Bangalore accomodation details

Some analysis for the sake of my colleagues (Wipro freshers )..
There are 5 wipro offices in B'lore
>>Koramangala
>>Madiwala
>>Silk board
>>Electronic city office
>>K2

So for the very first week you will be in Electronic city office and then you may get in any of the above mentioned offices

So my suggestion is search some accomodation near BTM , Koramangala road or Housur road

because if you opt in koramangala road K2 , Madiwala and Silkboard offices are almost walkable
and Electronic city will be 10 kms

and coming to cost structure in Koramangala,BTM its like 3500- 4500 for PG's(with food and accomodation)
but Best buildings and good location is there near Koramandala...

For Pg's a 2 month advance is there...
On the very first day wipro will provide some hostel details of 10-12 PG's..but most of them are almost filled with wiproittes :)

so better try for yourselves

If possible i will also update some details of PG's over here ....

My first day reporting experience @ wipro

One big shock to me was early DOJ of wipro because as many 0f my colleagues said DOJ will be in DEC...but i was lucky enough..!!

Finally the day came as june 25th 2008 when i first stepped in to one of the INDIA'S largest companies as "Project Engineer"

I had arrived one of the largest city in India and also interestingly, undisputedly the "fattest" city too one day prior to my DOJ .The truth is neither. I was simply a typical fresh graduate stumbling out of the shelters of school-life and into the corporate world.However, I guess more importantly, armed with a passion for self-discovery and an unwavering desire to constantly venture beyond the unknown to test myself

One main thing is there are lots and lots of people who understand and speak telugu here...like one in every 4 people overhere in B'lore.

Finally on 25th i started my corporate career by climbing Wipro bus at Shanthala silk house.

We went into electronic city Wipro office in less than an hour of time..Parents were stopped at the entrance of Wipro office and we were allowed into the office ...(from there parents went for site seeing in wipro bus)

In the very start security official verified Offer letter and a photo ID Proof (It can be any ID card with your photo) and issued a Guest pass to all new campus joinees.

From there we went into "Wipro Learning center block",really a big hall with almost 500 people capacity.As it was very first day little excited and little tensed about the formalities too....

There were around 60- 70 Engineer grads and 80 Non engineers who are reporting on that day.

firstly a team of 5 wipro ppl came and gave great welcome and started with the formailities..

firstly they asked ..

>>All people should possess each Sem Mark sheets , PC and CMM and NSR ack slip

There were few people who didnt completed NSR ack and medical checkup so they kept those people other side

and there were few people whose Univ didnt released results Yet but there are with there Course completion ..>So they kept these people on other side...

They gave Certificates list form so that we arranged things accordingly and submitted in a cover to them which they gave back in the evening after verification.

For the sake of SBI formalities,HDFC formalities , wipro Mutual benifit,Wipro Health benifit,Wipro Gratuity benifit,.......I filled my name address and blah blah around 200 times for these things.

They provided snacks and lunch on first day .

This is the schedule according to the wipro person

June 30th training starts

>> first 2 days Induction program by which they will train us to mould ourselves frm campus fresher to a corporate.We can also ask doubts about transportation , Corporate Sim cards etc etc in these days

>>Next some communication development things followed by PRP

For the first week training will be in Electronic city and then other part of training will be in other campuses in B'lore

My wipro Interview Experience

It was August 25,2007 one of the memorable day in my life.
On that day i went through the written test conducted by the Wipro IT sector in Sree Indu Engg College.

By seeing the people who came over there i was very much tensed because there are 2967 people who came to attend the written test

The written test contained 3 sections quant, verbal and technical.Cuming to my knowledge levels i felt technical was so easy and i thought i can easily clear that.The wipro conducted the written test in 3 phases each contained nearly 1000 ppl.Fortunately my college was in 3rd phase because Its Vardhaman Engg College....alphabetically it cumes to the last

The results were released in the evening .I was very much shocked that my name was announced in the list of shortlisted candidates from my college.The next rounds technical and HR was completed only for first phase ppl , so my other two rounds were conducted on next day Aug 26 , 2007

I made my resume in such a way that it reflects my complete student life with all of my achievements in it.
If u beleive or not my resume became a 4 paged one.I kept all the certifications i won from Brainbench and NCSA along with 3 of my projects and 2 Internships i underwent in my B.Tech life

My technical round went on for nearly 1 hour ...
I : I wished the technical person Gud Morning

Tech person: ya take ur seat ...and said how are you feeling
and I said "Frankly speaking I m little tensed"
and He said dont tense and b cool

I :Submitted my resume to that person ..The main page of resume was filled with a Dozen of computer languages as i was a computer Geek

Tech person: He started asking about each and every project i kept in my resume....and asked me about how u approached for Internships to various organisations...
I: I started saying i did two internships one from IIIT and other from Iptouch Sol,a small IT firm .They conducted me an interview and provided me required training to complete the project

Tech person:He asked me about my rankings in Microsoft competition...as i stood in 150th position and i did a project in Microsoft which stood 38th position .
I:I started saying I kept some new modules in the project by which the end user need not bother about the security aspects of Online transactions
and started saying about SSL Security and Digital Signatures

Tech person:last but not least He asked me to write the program for Circular Queue

I : The main thing was i forget about the variables in Circular Queue ...I became very tensed

But by God's Grace the Tech person was so friendly that ...He said Be cool u can do It and boosted confidence in me

Finally i completed the Technical Round and went through the final HR

I went through other person ..She was a lady who was about to Interview me...
She started asking .."Tell about Yourself"
I started and said about me confidently for about 15 minutes

Then she asked me "Y r u did these many projects in computers being a Circuit student"
I said "I m damn crazy about computers"

Then she asked me a final question saying "After 5 Years from Now where u want to c urself"
I started with my saying "I will complete my MBA from ISB , Hyd and pursue my mangerial career in the same Organization"
By seeing her Gestures and few other things i got confidence in me that i may get this job

Finally the HR round was also completed by 11am and results of Final HR was released in eveing 4'o clock ...

My name finally came up in shortlisted candidates ...I felt like"I was luckiest person on earth on that day"
